Shopping in Mumbai



Mumbai is the center of the shopping in India, it is a paradise for shoppers, and you can spend hours wandering through there, the shops, bazaars, markets and handicrafts emporia offers many amazing things, that you never has imagined. You can shop a designer label, handicrafts, textiles, shawls, souvenirs, and stylish house wares.

Shopping in Mumbai is a memorable experience, the variety and quantity of the shops and bazaars are not believed, they sell to fraction of the cost of the items in the east of the country, lots of the places is located in downtown area, markets make that you have a fascinating experience, because the markets, shops and other places have air conditioned, and you can get the best items depending of your ability. The shops opened after the 10 on the morning, and close about at 7 on the evening.

There are offered amazing collections of jewelries, expensive European antiques, wooden articles, leather ware and general bric-a-brac. But generally, the shops, markets, etc are very comfortable, and have charming names. Now will describe some places where you can go to shop:

Crawford Market, es llamado también como el Mercado de Mahatma Jyothiva Phule, es localizado cercano del Terminal de Chhatrapati Shivaji, es un famoso mercado dónde vende flores, las fruta, la carne y el pez, ofrecen otros artículos como una carne, queso de importación, el chocolate, las joyas, alfombras coloradas e innovadoras, etc. Es un lugar fascinante visitar, ser abierto de el lunes el sábado entre 11:30am a 8:00pm.

Colaba Causeway and Flora Fountain, are located in the south of the city, near of the Victorian Terminus. You can get many kind of item in separate departmental stores.

Fashion Street, is near from Colaba Causeway, between the Cross and Azad Maidans. There are some excellent places like Barring the Government emporia or some of the elegant boutiques; but in other places of the Fashion Street you can haggle.

Chor Bazar, located in the grant Road, has other names like a Thieves Market, Shor Bazaar or Noisy Market, is a good place for antiques lovers, and there is some second hand car parts or of furniture.

Bandra, is called to the Queen of Suburbs, there is a fashion place where go film stars, industrialists, in both side of its showrooms show elegant things for the elite.

Zaveri Bazaar, is very famous jewelry market, there you can find diamond, gold and silver jewelry.

Other shops or bazaars are: Ravissant, Atmosphere, Soma, Oberoi Shopping Centre, FabIndia, Phillips Antique Store, Bungalow 8, Contemporary Arts and Crafts, Neelam Jewels, Ananya, Salim Asgarally, Yamini, and Anokhi.
