Getting There

By Air

The nearest airport to Margao is the Dabolin, the Goa’s airport, located to 30 kilometers northwest of Margao that is connected with major cities of India with frequently flights, and chartered flights from European destinations. From the airport, prepaid and shared taxis are available to Margao.

By Railway

The Railway Station is the most important in the Goa State, is located to 3 kilometers south of the city's centre, there stop the train of the long distance, called express service on the Konkan Railway. These trains connect Goa with Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Trivandrum and other major cities of the country. Taxis and auto-rickshaws are available outsides of the Station, you should take one in prepaid, and for help you there is 24hr information counter; the reservation for trains you need to make with anticipation, especially to Mumbai and Delhi.

By Road

The city is well connected with the rest of the country throughout of the National Highway 17, which pass by Bambolim, Verna and Nuvem to reach to Margao. The main Kadamba Bus Stand is located 3 kilometer north from the center of the city, receives buses from the long distance cities. Other point to departure for interstate services to Mangalore via Chaudi and Gokan, and for services to Panjim and north Goa is the bus stand on Padre Miranda Road, next to the Nanutel Hotel to 1 kilometer from the Kadamba Bus Stand. Finally, private buses to Colva and Benaulim leaving from front of the Kamat Hotel, near of the east side of the main square of Margao.

Getting Around

In the city you can journey by bus, taxi, motorcycle taxi or auto-rickshaws, when you get taxi or other vehicle you need to agree the price, or pre-paid the journey, and if you want to get to Benaulim, Colva and Cabo da Rama, you can take a bus near of the main square, in front of the Kamat Hotel, or hire vehicles with driver, either full day or half day, between 600 and 1000 rupees of cost.
