Getting There

You can arrive there from different ways; the city is well connected with the principal cities of India.

By Air

Panjim doesn’t have airport, but the Dabolim Airport is to 29 km from the city, in the border of the Vasco Da Gama City, the airport receive flights from major cities of India, and some flights from other countries, specially from Europe. The journey from airport to the city takes 45 minutes in taxi and you should pay 450 rupees between four people, the bus service exists but this is not dependable, and if you have only a backpack you can take auto-rickshaws.

By Train

Konkan Railway is the main station of Goa State, to 30 km of the city, from there buses, taxis, and auto-rickshaws go to Panjim. But in Panjim is the small station of Karmali, where stop most of trains of Mumbai.

By Road

Panjim is connected with the country with the National Highway 17, by this road through Goa; generally buses coming from Mumbai for this road. The city has its terminal in Pato called Kadamba Bus Terminus, to 1 km from the main square; there arrive buses from the states of Maharashtra and Karnataka, and the towns of inside of the state of Goa.

Getting Around

The more popular transporting is the auto-rickshaws, is not expensive and you always can get one available. Private taxis and car hire are available by 600 rupees half day or 1000 rupees all day normally. Buses connect the city with the beaches of Dona Paula and Miramar, but these aren’t popular.
