Getting There

By Air

The main gateway for State is the International Dabolin airport located in the border of the Vasco da Gama city, to 29 kilometers from Panjim, the capital of Goa, the airport receive daily flights from Delhi, Mumbai, and Pune, twice a week from Chennai and Cochin, international flights twice a week to Kuwait, United Arab Emirates and charter flights to the United Kingdom, Germany and Switzerland; but most of international flights arrive to Mumbai. Major airlines operators have flights carrying passengers and cargo in and out Goa; operators such as Air India, Indian Airlines, Jet Airways, Spice Jet, Sahara Airlines, Kingfisher Airlines, and Air Deccan.

By Rail

Goa has two main railway stations, one is Madgaon located in Margao, and the other is located in Vasco da Gama, Goa is connecting with Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Mangalore, Emakulan, Bagalore and Thiruvanantapuram, and other places of India. Daily, Margao city receives express train service from Delhi; rail travel to Goa from most parts of India is now vastly improved with the commissioning of the Konkan Railway.

By Road

The best way to travel to Goa is renting car and begins independent you journey, several people rather getting to Goa by road. Bus Services are pretty good and operating from Goa to most cities of India, especially to towns of the neighboring states such as Mumbai, Pune, Belgaum, Hubli, Bangalore, Mangalore, etc. the service is frequent during the day. Goa is well connected with other parts of India by the National Highway 4A, 17, and 17A.The Kadamaba Transport Corporation operated the services of buses, but private operator, and other states as Karnata and Maharashtra Road Transport Corporations offer also their services of transportation. Busses arrive to the huge Kadamba bus stand at Panaji and to others smaller bus satands. Buses generally arrive to Goa early in the morning and have departures in the afternoon and in the evenings. The costs of Tickets vary between 250 rupees to 650 rupees, depending upon the distance, the season, the demand and the quality of bus service.

By Sea

Before some steamers offered trip between the cities throughout the coastline of Konkan, now only Samlink offer the service of charm travel by ships since December 2003, the ships are built in beautiful Scandinavian vessel style, and have aeroplane style reclining seats. The ships are available three days to the week, and departures at 9 am and arrival at 6:30 pm, but the travel by ships are canceled during monsoon season.

By Taxi

The service of taxi in Goa is around 8 rupees per kilometer, if the journey is inside of the municipal limits, when you go outside of those limits, the service, charge you with 50 percent extra.

By Bus

The service of bus inside of the state good and are always available one, the most towns and cities of the State are well connected with motorable roads, the services are offered by private corporations and the state transport corporations, the travel in bus is memorable and charm but some times the buses are crowded or full.

By Ferries

Is a special form of to travel, this is used specially in the places where are rivers and donít exist bridges, there is the unique way to travel by a ferry or known also as ferryboat by the locals. The people think the trip in ferry is romantic and enjoyable.

By Rickshaws

Of the same way that in the other cities that mode of transport is very popular in Goa, these are painted of yellow and black, usually take two or three passengers and are quite speed, and cheaper 7 rupees by kilometer or more, and charge 25 percent over the 11 pm.

By Bike o Motorcycle

Many tourists like to travel around from Goa by motorcycle; this mode of transport became popular, and is cheaper, faster, and funnier. Generally the motorcycles are Honda Activas brand, but you can rent a geared motorcycle or Royal Enfield which is very similar to older British motorcycles, some rental companies provide of helmets, if your company doesnít provide it, you try to get one and be carefully driving in the road, the cost by rent a motorcycle vary between 150 rupees and 250 rupees.
