Getting Around India

The last years the transport in India was improved, now goes more o less everywhere, maybe isn't the fastest or the most comfortable in the world, but it is cheap; when you are there, always you can get a train or a bus, occasionally taking plane, and in some places even boat transporting tourists or people. The transport in rural areas during the monsoon season can be hazardous and care should be taken, monsoon rains cause flooding and landslides that can cut off the communication of some towns and villages for days at a time. Transport in cities or towns in India is another unforgettable experience, because there you have many options for mobilize that in other parts of the world, for example in Calcutta you can find rickshaws still pulled by men on foot, rickshaws pulled by camel in Jaisalmer, or you can ride a camel in Rajasthan, in your travel between desert towns; moreover, India offers you the chance to try out some classics such as narrow-gauge railway, steam locomotives, the Ambassador car and the Enfield Bullet motorbike. But in general India is well connected by a well railway network, a good National Highway, and frequently flights between Indian cities, and you can arrive just on time everywhere. Sometimes the public transport is crowded and little slow, but for you comfort exist private companies which offer a luxury service.
