West



The West Region is another beautiful destination inside of India, the region includes to Maharashtra, Goa and Gujarat, and some times the region includes to the State of Rajasthan, which is reachable by this side of the Country.

Mumbai is the base to visit the West Region of Delhi, and is the capital of the Maharashtra State; Mumbai city is a major metropolis and the financial capital of India, there is located Chhatrapati International airport which is the most important gateway and receives the major international air traffic of India. In the city you can find some attractions of the State as the Gateway of India, built in 1911 to commemorate the visit of King George V and the Queen Mary to Delhi Durbar; other attractions of the city are The Prince of Wales Museum, the Jehangir Art Gallery, temples, churches, and shrines of which the most important is Haji Ali. In Maharashtra State also are located marvelous caves such as the rock cut caves in the Elephant Island, that have beautiful carved sculptures and statues inside of there. Other interesting destinations include to the Kanheri Caves, Ajanta Caves, Ellora Caves, the beach resorts at Madh Island and Manori, the charming hill station of Matheran, the town of Ganpatipule, and the lovely hill resort of Mahabaleshwar.

The Goa State is a great destination for the people who love the sea and the white sandy beaches, there are located the best beaches of India such as Anjuna Beach, Vagator Beach, Arambol Beach, Palolem Beach, Colva Beach, Dona Paula Beach, Miramar Beach, Benavali Beach, Chapora Beach, and Siridao Beach. But Goa not only has beaches, it also has pretty Portuguese buildings, that remember the European architecture, and examples of this style are the churches, mansions and palaces; some of these beautiful constructions are the Church of the Immaculate Conception, and the Church of St. Francis of Assisi; and also the Fort Aguada which was built by the Portuguese in 1612.

The other state that is include in this region is Gujarat, where is located Temples and Religious Places as Akshardham, Dwarkadhish Temple, Palatine, Somnath Temple, Modhera, Ambaji, etc. and other buildings are Teen Darwaja, Singh’s Temple, Srkhej Roza, Mosque of Sidi Saiyad, Dada Hari Vava, Jumma Masjid, Rani Sipri Mosque and Shaking Minarets. Other places to visit in the state are Gir National Park, Science City, Kanakaria Lake and beaches.
